Adam Lee Smith

May 18, 1981 — September 4, 2022

Ron and I have some very sad news to share. We lost our son, Adam, today from his prolonged fight with liver and kidney disease and a severe blood infection. Our hearts are broken as Adam joins his brother Dennis who left before him 33 years ago. Adam was only 41. He is survived by his grandparents June & Bessie Altizer, my two brothers Dail and his family, Mark and his wife Donna, my two sisters Karen and husband Kurt, Lisa and husband Mark, Ron’s two sisters, Rene and family, Rosemary and husband Tony, and Ron’s brother, Bobby and wife Robin. He has so many cousins that I couldn’t even begin to name all of them. We had several conversations with Adam and he absolutely did not want a funeral. He wanted to be cremated and maybe a celebration of life at some future date and we will honor his request. His two German Shepherds, who were attached to him at the hip, will come to live with us. Stryker and Sadie will miss him about as much as we will. He is also survived by his cousin and best friend, Robbin Scarberry. We ask that you please do not send flowers. If you want to make a donation to Dalmatian Rescue of Southwest Virginia in his honor, we are still taking one dog at a time and have our Care for Life for Seniors program in operation. Our Paypal address is paypal@drswv.com or make a donation to the animal rescue of your choice in Adam’s name. We would appreciate no phone calls, messages or texts at this time. Ron and I need some time to ourselves.
