WEBB, ADEAN JACQUELINE FOY (Ma Dean), age 87, of Christiansburg gracefully departed this life November 11, 2004.
She was born on June 23, 1917 in Winston-Salem, NC to the late William David and Katie Hayes Foy. The youngest of seven children, she spent her youth in Mullins, WV, and attended Conley High School and Bluefield State College, where she met and married her husband, James.
She devoted her life to her husband and ten children. She would quote the Bible, ?The harvest truly is plentious but the laborers are few.? Her faith saw her family through all situations. Her husband, 5 sons, and now grandsons and granddaughters served and are now serving proudly in the U. S. Military. Her prayers saw her family through WWII, the Korean War, Vietnam, Desert Storm and now Iraq. She was a member of the Belview United Methodist Chuch. She loved singing in her choir and was always ready with a hymn for any occasion.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters, one brother, her husband, James ?Ted? Webb, Sr., a son, CSM James T. Webb, Jr.; and a daughter, Jacqueline Holloway. She leaves to cherish her memory, five sons, Ishmal A. of Korea, Frederick W. of Fairlawn, Thomas E. of Waynesboro, Carlos F. of Radford, and Gregory N. of Christiansburg; three daughters, Hattie C. Pridgen of Clinton, NC, Katie D. Covington of Christiansburg, and Lena C. Norris of Pulaski; 26 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
The Family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. Sunday, November 14 at the Horne Funeral Home. Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 15 at the Belview United Methodist Church with Rev. Aaron Fitch, Rev. Sebert Rorrer and Bishop Anthony Tucker officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
