Adelaide Lewis Walker of Christiansburg, VA, died on March 16, 2012.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William W.A. Walker, M.D.; and three brothers, Judd Walter Lewis, Donald Sykes Lewis, and Beverley West Lewis.
She is survived by her daughters, Adelaide Linda Gregorcyk, Virginia Walker Field, and Julia Walker Haynes; and six grandchildren, Kelly Leigh Gregorcyk, Keith Walker Gregorcyk, Nicola Marie Field, Benjamin Walker Field, Allison Elizabeth Haynes, and Daniel Lewis Haynes.
She was born in Pittsburgh, PA, and reared in Tidewater, VA. Adelaide enjoyed working at a hospital, visiting the beach, playing cards, and conversing with friends and family.
A memorial service will be conducted at the Horne Funeral Home Chapel at 11 am on Monday, March 19, 2012, with Mr. Todd Triplett officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in honor of Adelaide to the American Cancer Society, 2840 Electric Road, Suite 106-A, Roanoke, VA 24018, or to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, Attn: Membership Dept., 6 Herndon Avenue, Annapolis, MD 21403.
