Adrienne Marie Glace, 67, passed away on June 26, 2011, at her home in Christiansburg, VA, surrounded in love by her family, after a brief illness.
Adrienne was born in Seattle, WA to Leonard and Phyllis Leathley. She grew up in Renton, WA, and spent the majority of her life at various Naval bases and subsequently in Stafford, VA with her husband, Ken. Adrienne and Ken ultimately retired in Christiansburg, VA.
Adrienne is remembered as a faithful and devoted servant of Christ who loved babies and took great pride in family, home, friends, and service to others. Adrienne’s unspoken motto was "there are no strangers, only friends I haven’t met yet."
She happily lived her life as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and homemaker. Adrienne was an active member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Christiansburg. Adrienne, Mom - we love you, we know that you are now in our Father’s hands, and we pray that you have Christ’s eternal peace.
Adrienne is survived by her husband, Commander Kenneth William Glace, Jr., US Navy - retired of Christiansburg; daughter Theresa Marie Rivinius and husband Bill, Sr. of Tucson, AZ; daughter Allison Frances Long and husband Dean of Floyd, VA; daughter Michelle Glace Collins and husband Jason of Concord, NC; grandchildren Jessica Marie Rivinius, Billy Rivinius, Jr., Jackson Cole Long, Payton Christopher Collins, Joshua Garrett Long, Aislin Frances Collins, and Reagan Elizabeth Collins; brother Leonard Thomas Leathley, Jr. of Renton, WA; sister Carol Ann Hackman of Renton, WA; and sister Diane Faye Graham of Kettle Falls, WA. Adrienne will be remembered and missed by her many extended family members and friends.
Adrienne is preceded in death by her parents Leonard and Phyllis Leathley and brother Gerald Lee Leathley of Renton, WA.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2011, from 6:00-8:00 pm at Horne Funeral Home in Christiansburg, VA. A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, June 30, 2011, 11:00 am at Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Christiansburg, VA. Interment will follow at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin, VA.
Family and friends will be received at the Our Saviour Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall following the interment service.
Flowers in honor of Adrienne are gratefully accepted, but those who wish may direct memorial donations to the Alzheimer’s Association or Our Saviour Lutheran Church, Christiansburg.
