Alice Price Wrenn, 84, passed away peacefully surrounded by family members on Dec. 3, 2022.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Minor and Ruby Price; brother, Charlie Price, sisters, Kathleen Absher and Betty Neighbors.
She left behind her husband, Robert E. (Buck) Wrenn; daughter, Hannah Bishop; son, Robert (Bob) Wrenn and wife Leslie; brother, David Price and wife Sandy; sisters, Judy Dowdy and Carolyn Alls; sister-in-law, Jennie Brewer; grandsons, Jack and Tyler Wrenn; a very special niece and godmother to Hannah, Jennifer Sowers; and other nieces and nephews.
Alice graduated from Blacksburg High School and New River Community College and worked for 20 years at Va. Tech in the Cooperative Extension Division. She met and married Buck in 1969 and in 1977 moved to Pennsylvania and worked as an Office Manager for a marketing firm. In 1997 the Wrenns returned to Montgomery County and Alice decided to retire and live a leisurely life. However, God had other plans for her and sent her Hannah, the daughter she had always wanted, and so the leisure life became one of devotion and love.
Services for Alice will be conducted on Thursday Dec. 8, 2022, with visitation from 4 pm to 6 pm at Horne Funeral Home. Memorial Service will follow with Rev. Neil Turner presiding over the service, assisted by Rev. Joshua Copeland of Our Savior Lutheran Church.
Buck and Alice met after a Va. Tech basketball game and sports were an important part of their 53 years of marriage. Hannah played on her first basketball team while in the 2nd grade and it became her passion. It is fitting, therefore, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Alice’s honor to the CHS Girls Basketball Boosters.
