Allen Curtis Arnold, 59, of Christiansburg, originally of Wythe County, VA went Home to be with his heavenly Father on April 20, 2013.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Jesse David & Lottie Mae Akers Arnold. He is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Geraldine Beasley Arnold; four stepsons & their spouses, Mike & Rhonda Saylors, Pat & Becky Saylors, Eric Saylors, Buck & Crystal Saylors; 2 stepdaughters & spouse, Jackie Mann and Suzanne & Don Fariss; 12 step-grandchildren, all of whom are of Christiansburg; a brother & sister-in-law, Ronnie & Karen Arnold; 2 sisters & brothers-in-law, Jean & Gilmer Rickey and Sherry & Ricky Ring; 2 nieces; 1 nephew; 2 great-nephews, all from Wytheville; as well as his good friends and traveling buddies, Gary & Nancy Conner and Eugene & Linda Kast of Christiansburg.
He will be remembered for his love of gardening and being outdoors. The family would like to extend a special thank you to two Hospice nurses, Lindsey and Alta, as well as to Ryan Rose, a nurse from RMH, 8th floor ICU.
The family will receive friends on Monday, April 22, 2013, from 5-8 p.m. at Auburn Baptist Church located at 3840 Riner Road. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 23rd at 2 p.m. at Auburn Baptist Church, with Pastor Shake Smith and Pastor Jerry Gibson officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Auburn Baptist Church, Building Fund, P. O. Box 917, Riner, VA 24149.
