Allie Louise Yates Martin

Allie Yates Martin, born July 30, 1926, passed away on November 29, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vance C. Martin; son, Ricky Martin; and parents, Earnest and Edith Graham Yates.

Allie is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Charlie Long of Lynchburg, Sandra and Vernon Martin of Christiansburg; brother, Bob Yates and Clairmont; sister-in-law, Evelyn Yates, daughter-in-law Jenny Martin; grandchildren, Stacey (Michael Vaughan, Jeremy Long, Kerri (Jeff Hamilton; great-granddaughter, Katie (Tyler) Litz; and great-great-grandchildren, Landon, Emma, and Grayson Litz. She is also survived by extended family, Mary and Larry Hawkins, Hoyt and Linda Phillips, Ella and Franklin Cromer, Grace Kelley, and Pat and Punky Fulcher; as well as many special nieces, nephews, and friends.

A special thank you to Linda Stiltner, Jim and Barbara Yates, Patricia Gordon, Jenny Martin and Medi Home Health and Hospice, especially nurse Debbie Phillips, Dr. Wyne and staff, Dr. Isaac Spence and staff, Lisa Sword, Peggy Willis, Martha Pearman, and Debbie Knack.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 1, 2018, from 1-2 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will begin at 2 p.m. in the Chapel, with Rev. Lanny Belcher officiating. Interment will follow in Piedmont Cemetery.
