On Friday, October 14, 2021, Alton Showalter passed away at his home at the age of 74.
Alton was born on March 22, 1947 in Carroll County to Esley and Canary Showalter. Alton was employed at Goodwill Industries for 26 years and took great pride in his work. Alton was preceded in death by his father, Esley and mother Canary. He is survived by his sister, Peggy Doss and brother’s Larry and Gary Showalter, Cousins Dennis Duncan and Questa Sain along with several other cousins, nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Ernest Mahala who was a great friend to Alton for many years.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 23rd 2021 at Horne Funeral Home in Christiansburg from 10a to 11a. Following visitation, there will be a graveside ceremony at Captain George Cemetery, Floyd.
