Altizer, Alvis Oakley, 76, of Christiansburg, VA, passed away on Friday, December 31, 2010. He was born on October 23, 1934.
He was retired from Lynchburg Foundry and attended Bible Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oakley Altizer and Edna Teel Altizer; daughter, Melissa Altizer; brothers, Foster Altizer, Kenneth Altizer, Edgar Altizer, Willie Altizer; sister, Ruby Altizer Shelor.
He is survived by his wife, Neoma B. Altizer; daughters, Rhonda A. Wagenbrenner, of Christiansburg, VA, Kimberly D. Altizer, of Christiansburg, VA, Denise Altizer and Mike Mantz, of Radford, VA; grandson, Matthew Lee and wife, Jodi, of Christiansburg, VA; granddaughter, Melissa Lee, of Dublin, VA; great-granddaughter, Kaylin Lee; great-grandson, due in May; sister, Edith Viers, of Radford, VA; brother, Buster Altizer and wife, Sue, of Riner, VA; special nieces and nephew, Linda Bonds, Tracey Altizer and Bruce Altizer; and many other nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 12p.m.-2p.m., Monday, January 3, 2011 at the Horne Funeral Home with a funeral service following at 2p.m. in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Dusty Etter and Int. Pastor Kenneth Wells officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
