Collins, Amy Clarise Dowdy, 54, of Christiansburg, VA, went to God’s Kitchen on Wednesday, March 17, 2010. She was born March 15, 1956 in Oakland CA. She was preceded in death by her father, Gerald Eugene Lebbert.
She was an avid baker, antique collector, and loved cats and lighthouses.
She is survived by her husband, Mark Collins; daughter, Jessica Dowdy Aydlette and husband Josh of Goose Creek, SC; step-son Joseph Gusler of Christiansburg, VA; mother, Florence Lebbert of Oakland CA; sisters, Louise Gaston and husband Michael of Bend, OR, and, Margherite Lebbert and husband Ron Palkhivala of Alameda, CA; nephew Robert Lebbert of Alameda, CA; cousin Steve Ockenfels of Baltimore, MD; pets, Obo and Bunny; and numerous other family and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 22, 2010 at 6:00 pm from the chapel of Horne Funeral Home with Pastor David Hurd officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 4 until 6 in the Horne Funeral Home.
