Ann Elizabeth Daingerfield Hart, 85, of Christiansburg died January 2, 2015. Born May 12, 1929, in Ridley Park, Pennsylvania, to Asa Rexford Daingerfield and Juanita Brown White Daingerfield. Ann also lived in New Jersey and Maryland before moving to Virginia in 1937.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents, and a son, Rex Hart. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Pam King and Wayne King, of Christiansburg; a daughter, Fran Hart, of Christiansburg; a son, Matt Hart, of Christiansburg; a grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Mickey and Joni King, of Christiansburg; a grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Jon and Mitzi King, of Christiansburg; a grandson, Forrest Hart, of Blacksburg; a granddaughter, Shannon Hart; a great-grandson, Ashton King; a great-granddaughter, Peyton King; and a great-granddaughter, Parker Hart Pattishall. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Ann was a proud graduate of Christiansburg High School (Class of 1946), and attended Radford College where she was a member of Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority. In addition to raising a family, Ann worked as an operator for Chesapeake & Potomac Telephone Company, a lab technician at the Radford Army Arsenal Plant, and as a technician in the Land Use division of the Montgomery County Commissioner of the Revenue’s Office.
A celebration of her life will be held Tuesday, January 6, 2015, at the Christiansburg Presbyterian Church. The family will receive visitors in the Fellowship Hall at 1:00 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Don Makin officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Christiansburg Presbyterian Church Tin Shop, the American Cancer Society, or the charity of your choice.
