Anna Mae Pack

March 31, 1945 — April 15, 2023

Anna Mae Pack passed away peacefully after a brief illness at NRV Carilion Hospital on April 15 due to cardiac arrest and complications from kidney failure. She was born on March 31, 1945, to William and Elizabeth Gravely in Christiansburg, VA. She was one of 10 children, who attended Asbury United Methodist Church. Mae attended Christiansburg Institute prior to marrying the love of her life, Joseph William Pack. They were blessed with three loving children: Kimberly (Matt) Winston, Binghamton, NY; Eric (Terwringia) Pack, Radford, VA, and Linda Pack, Athens, GA. Her grandchildren, Chloe and Marcus Winston, Athens, GA; Malika and Lindsey Pack, Athens, GA, and Macenzie Pack, Radford, VA were precious gifts to her. Her great-grandson, Jelani Pack, brought her immeasurable joy.

Mae loved her family and enjoyed dancing and playing softball back in her younger days. She was a member of the Riner Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed babysitting many children in the neighborhood, who often cried when their parents came to retrieve them. She loved gardening, fresh flowers and spending time with her grandchildren. Her favorite things to do were going on motorcycle rides with her husband, watching Lifetime, True TV, soap operas, game shows and celebrating with wine coolers.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her siblings, Betty Jo Gravely, Phyllis Robinson, William Gravely, Jr., Jerry Gravely, and Loretta Watts; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins, including special family friends Anthony and Ryan Barnes. She is proceeded in death by her husband, Joseph William Pack; her parents, William and Bessie Gravely; and siblings, Glenda Dobbins, Larry Gravely, Donna Buchannon and Charles Gravely.

Visitation will begin at 11 am on Monday, April 17, followed by a Memorial Service at Noon at Horne Funeral Home, presided by Reverend Betsy King. Graveside services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Heart Association.

The family wishes to express our deepest gratitude and appreciation to the CCU staff at NRV and Roanoke Carilion Hospitals.
