Anna Jean Thompson, 79, of Christiansburg, passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2015, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis L. Thompson; and parents, George V. and Mary S. Nutter.
She worked for many years at the Commissioner of Revenue Office in Montgomery County; afterwards she started Thompson Tax Service, where she helped many with bookkeeping and taxes. She was an active member of Cambria Baptist Church for many years, where she worked in Sunday School and many committees of the Church.
She is survived by her three loving children, Barry L. Thompson of Roanoke, VA, Brenda A. Horne (Doug) of Mayslick, KY, Brian V. Thompson (Rita) of Christiansburg, VA; grandchildren, Paige Thompson, Amber Thompson, Travis Thompson, and Justin Thompson; great-grandchildren, Ella Thompson and Micah Thompson; brothers, George V. Nutter, Jr. (Melanie) and John A. Nutter (Joan), both of Georgia; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 20, 2015, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Cambria Baptist Church, with Rev. Keith Crowgey and Rev. Tom Harvey officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Garden, Dublin.
