Annie Gardner

June 29, 1917 — April 2, 2009

Gardner, Annie Mae (Roop), 91, of Radford, died Thursday April 2, 2009. She was born
in Floyd County on June 29, 1917 to Edgar Vanson Roop, Sr. and Elizabeth Epperly
Roop. She grew up in Floyd County, married and reared a family in the Chestnut Ridge
section of Montgomery County, and lived her later years in Radford. She was a cherished long time member of the Floyd Church of Christ.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Otha L. Gardner, two brothers, Dalton Roop, Edgar Vanson (E.V.) Roop, Jr., and one sister Ruth Akers.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Ray and Wanda Gardner of Riner, Doug and Martha Gardner of Radford, four grandchildren, Julie (Ken) Jackson of Madison NC, Jared (Misti) Gardner of Floyd, Amanda Gardner of Bristol, VA, and Scott Gardner of Radford, two great grandchildren, Mallorie and Jonah Gardner of Floyd, three nieces, Mary Elizabeth Roop of Floyd, Betty Lou Million of Hebron, KY, and Peggy Lancaster of Washington, DC, and one nephew, Vernon Roop of Bristol, TN.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 4, 2009 from 6-8 p.m. at the Horne Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, April 5, 2009 at 2 p.m. at the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Mitchell Floyd and Mr. Larry Phillips officiating. Interment to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg, Va.
