Annie Catherine Jennelle Myers, of Christiansburg, died Sunday, December 8, 2013, at home from complications of Parkinson’s Disease. Annie was born in Montgomery County, Virginia, on August 26, 1929, to the late Louis D. and Maude Grubb Jennelle. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Lewis C. Jennelle; and sisters, Elizabeth J. Lutz and Ethel J. Willis.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, John B. (Tommy) Myers, Jr.; sons, John B. Myers, III (Eileen), Daniel Lynn Myers (Bonnie); daughter, Rebecca Anne McCall (John); grandchildren, Emily Lynn Myers, Tyler Andrew Myers, Elizabeth Myers Latimer (Andrew), and Katherine Mae Myers; a brother, Ernest M. Jennelle (Pauline); and several nieces and nephews.
Annie graduated from Blacksburg High School and Radford College, Women’s Division of V.P.I., and retired from the Montgomery County Public School system after teaching 28 years at Christiansburg High School.
A memorial service will be held at St. Paul United Methodist Church, Christiansburg, on Wednesday, December 11, 2013, at 3 p.m., with Rev. Doug Kanney and Rev. Michael Copeland officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
