Anthony ‘Tony’ Lovern, 45, of Elliston, VA passed away on August 23, 2017. Born on March 25, 1972 in Blacksburg, VA, he was the son of Tony and Sandy Lovern of Elliston, VA.
Anthony was a former employee of Koppers Inc. of Salem as the maintenance supervisor. He had 26 years of service with Koppers Inc. Anthony was a hard worker as well as a compassionate friend, a loving son, and a dedicated husband and father.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Daniel and Virginia Lovern, James and Mary Miller; and uncles, Melvin and Dewey Lovern. He is survived by his wife Dana Lovern; his children, Samantha Lovern, Madison Lovern, Holden Lovern, Shelby Lovern, Ridge Lovern, Josh and Kyle Hutchings, and Abram Romero; grandson, Riley Hutchings; parents, Sandy and Tony Lovern; brother, Danny Lovern; and in-laws, James and Janet Oyler. He is also survived by a community of other extended family and close friends that loved and adored him very much.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 26, 2017, from 4-7 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, August 27, 2017, at 2 p.m. in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Buford Linkous and Pastor Ryan Rose officiating. Interment will follow in North Fork Cemetery.
