Antoine “Mike” Scott, age 45 of Pulaski, Virginia passed away on Monday, January 16, 2023 at the University of Virginia Medical Center. He was born on December 12, 1977 in Toledo, Ohio and was raised in Christiansburg, Virginia. In 1997, Mike graduated from Christiansburg High School where he was considered a “local legend” wearing #6 for the Blue Demon Football team, as well as, for his athletic abilities in track.
Mike was preceded in death by his grandfather Elliott “Jake” Stewart, father Richard Scott, mother Shelly Stewart, sister Makeia Scott, and very special aunts and uncles Rochelle Stewart, Belle May Bell, James Stewart and Sterling Stewart.
Mike is survived by his loving wife Jaimee Scott, daughters Brandy Gray, Jaira McNair, Sophie and Micah Scott; Grandchildren Mathias, Gah’Mir, Steven and Tedin; and brother Kevin Spidell (Mayrena) a host of special relatives and friends.
Mike had an extreme love for all of his family and strived to keep in touch and “make his rounds” to visit them whenever he was able. He had a special relationship with his in-laws Debbie and Garry Marion. To know Mike was to know a true family man, a great guy and the life of every party. Mike was an amazing father and always put his wife Jaimee and daughters first, striving to provide the best possible life for them. He was close with his friends and proud of his family. His kindness extended to all he met.
Mike was a successful business owner and worked hard to make his families dreams come true. Mike had the brightest, friendliest, yet “I’m up to something” smile. He was well known for his awesome, “strictly legal” 4th of July fireworks displays.
Mike was an avid Ohio State Football fan, NASCAR race fan and mustang enthusiast. He was a member of the NRV Mustang Club where he would proudly showcase his mustang and live life in the fast lane.
Mike lived his life to the fullest despite his multiple medical issues. He was always optimistic and left everyone with a big smile. He generously welcomed people to his home and never met a stranger. Mike loved God, his family and was truly one-of-a-kind. He was dearly loved by many and will be missed immensely by all.
The family would like to extend sincere gratitude for the unwavering care and support from UVA Medical Center, Davita Dialysis Center and all the health care professionals that worked aimlessly to care for Mike in the recent years.
The family is in the care of Horne Funeral Home in Christiansburg, Va. Visitation will be Saturday, January 21, 2022, at 1:00, with the Celebration of Life to follow at 2:00, officiated by Reverend Larry Carter Sr. . Graveside service will be held immediately following, at Shaeffer Cemetery.
