April Marie Bullock

April Marie Bullock, 37, of Christiansburg, finally succumbed to cancer on February 16, 2019, with the love of many, peacefully asleep in the arms of husband, Howell.

April was a devoted mother and amazing wife. April’s time was spent as a stay at home mom and then for a while working for Kiger Transportation. April was devoted to the safety and wellbeing of those whom she befriended and transported until her surgery and diagnosis of cancer in 2017. April’s battle with cancer went on for 16 months, during which time she gave every ounce of energy she could.

April was preceded in death by her mother, Joan Marie Robertson; father, Jerry Lee Childress; aunts and uncles, Sally Hayden, Thomas F. ‘Pete’ Jackson II, Betty A. Lephew, Mark A. Jackson, and John W. Jackson.

April is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Howell ‘Hal’ L. Bullock; children, Alexis Mercedes Hilton, Kameryn Skyler Hilton, Ashton Gabriel Bullock, Nicholas Lyndon Bullock; brothers, Jerry Lee Childress and Eric L. Childress; niece, Cassie Marie Anderson; and aunts and uncles, Dorothy E. Smith, Charles H. Jackson, Linda L. Howard, Paul P. Jackson, and Wanda D. Pickeral.

The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2019, at 2 p.m. in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel, with interment to follow in Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the Service.

In lieu of flowers we ask for donations to be made in her name to VT Relay for Life, National Brain Tumor Society, American Cancer Society or any cancer research center to help patients battling this terrible disease.
