SEMONES, ARCHIE LEE, age 84, of Christiansburg, passed away at home on June 26, 2005 after a lengthy battle with numerous painful illnesses.
He was a Veteran of World War II, serving in the Navy during the Pacific Campaign. He was an avid outdoorsman, who loved hunting and especially trout fishing.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Dorothy Semones. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Wanda Semones, Christiansburg; a daughter, Linda Criner of Christiansburg; brothers and sisters-in-law, Latha and Joyce Semones, Virginia Beach; Saford and Zollie Semones, Pulaski; Dale and Vivian Semones, Christiansburg; a sister and brother-in-law, Irene and Stanley Frost, Pulaski; grandsons, Jeff Semones, Los Angeles; Jason Criner, Floyd and Travis Criner, Blacksburg; special friends, Posey Richardson and Ervin Harrison.
In lieu of flowers it is requested that contributions be made to the Christiansburg Rescue Squad, P. O. Box 176; Christiansburg, VA 24073. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 28th at the Horne Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 29th at the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kathy Hale officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with Military Graveside Rites by VFW Post #1184. The Semones Family is being served by Horne Funeral Service.
