Ardith Brammer Matz

Ardith Brammer Matz, 73, of Shawsville, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 15, 2018. She was born on September 29, 1944. Ardith was preceded in death by her husband, James Edgar Matz Jr.; her parents, Otho Eugene Brammer and Lura Bryant Brammer; and brothers, Calvin V. Brammer and Julian W. Brammer. She was co-owner with her husband of Matz Oil Co.

Leaving behind to carry on her memory are her two sons, Anthony J. Matz (Tony) of Shawsville, and Kevin W. Matz of Elliston; five grandchildren, Anthony J. Matz Jr. ‘AJ’, Amy Matz Collins, Cory A. Songer, Cayla Matz White, and Kendra Matz Quintana; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers, Maurice Howard Brammer of Moneta, Wilmar Jean Brammer and wife Joanne of Christiansburg; sister, Evelyn Rice and husband Russell of Sandstone; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 18, 2018, from 6-8 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, September 19, 2018, at 1 p.m. at the Shawsville Congregational Holiness Church with Pastor Wes Conner and Pastor Ed Gallimore officiating. Interment will follow in the Shawsville Congregational Cemetery.
