Arthur Wood

Wood, Arthur Lee, of Elliston, VA, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 9, 2010. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Thomas and Ora Yopp Wood. He had worked for Sisson and Ryan for 41 years.

He is survived by his wife, Edna Wood; his daughters & son-in-law, Lisa and Jeffrey Poff, of Floyd, VA and Kristin Wood, of Fairfax, VA; two grandchildren, Taylor “Porky” and Issac “Lee”; brother, Gene Wood, of Elliston, VA; sisters and brother-in-law, Barbara and Hobert Mills, of Shawsville, VA, Lilly Blankenship, of Pembroke, VA and Mattie McGuyer, of Christiansburg, VA; his Pastor and special friend, Jerry Shepherd.

The family will receive friends from 5p.m.-8p.m. on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at the Horne Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 12, 2010 at the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jerry Shepherd and Pastor Theo VanBlerk. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg, VA.

The family wishes to thank, Dr. McCoy and his staff, and a special thanks to Amy. The family would also like to thank, Carilion Hospice.
