ALVAREZ, Barbara Kanode, “Bobbie”, 61 of Shawsville went to be with the Lord, Saturday, January 2, 2010.
Bobbie was a long time member of Senneca Baptist Church in Elliston.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law; Stephanie and James Phillips of Pilot, Joetta and Scott Stewart of Roanoke, grandchildren; Nicholas Phillips of Pilot, Andrew and Raven Phillips of Salem, Jade Phillips of Pilot and Stacie and Garett Brown of Christiansburg. She is also survived by her great grandchildren; Cory and Hunter Brown and Gage Phillips, mother; Rachel Dorothy Kanode of Christiansburg, brother and sister-in-law; John D. “J.D.” and Susan Kanode of Harrisonburg, VA, sister and brother-in-law; Dorothy Lee and Gary Nuckolls of Alabama. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews and her beloved dog; “Peakaboo”.
The family will receive friends at The Horne Funeral Home Tuesday, January 5, 2010 from 3-4 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 4 p.m.
