Barbara Jane Farewell

Barbara Jane Farewell, 81, of Christiansburg passed away August 31, 2022. She was employed at Radford Hospital and New River Valley Medical Center over a span of 38 years. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, James & Eva Pillar, brother, James Irvin Pillar, and son, Michael Lee Bishop. Surviving are her husband, Marvin Wayne Farewell; children, Kathy Carden, Jeffrey Allen Bishop, JW Bishop and wife, Essie, Detria Ann Baily and husband, Scott, Kim Herman and husband, Rob, and Beth Heslep; grandchildren, Michael, Diana, Katrina, Stephanie, James, Riley, Marcus, Brandon, and Madison; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley Owen and husband, Jim; cat, Patches; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 3rd at Horne Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Graveside services will be held privately at Highland Memory Garden.
