Barbara Jean Jones

Barbara Jean (Bobbie) Jones, 79, of Blacksburg, left this world November 20, 2014, from Kroontje Health Care Center, to go rest high on the mountain to spend eternity with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who she accepted over 70 years ago, and to be reunited with her dad and mother, Alvie and Hazel Jones, who preceded her in death.

Barbara is now walking on the streets of gold and singing with the angels.

Barbara is survived by four sisters, Thelma Shelor, Maggie Alene Jones and Diana Jones, all of Warm Hearth Village in Blacksburg, and Bonnie Linkous and brother-in-law, Buford of Merrimac. She is also survived by eight nieces and nephews and their spouses, Kathy and Lewis Bennett of Blacksburg, Leah and Jesse Tate of Suffolk, VA, Rex and Doris Shelor, Dickie Shelor and Phyllis Neese, all of Christiansburg, Gene and Mary Shelor of Salem, Crystal and Erik Eckberg of Silver Springs, MD, Brian and Kristina Linkous of Blacksburg, and Keith and Winona Linkous of Dublin; as well as several great and great-great-nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Horne Funeral Home on Saturday, November 22, 2014, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. A Graveside Service will be held at Belmont Cemetery, with Pastor Buford Linkous officiating.

The family would like to thank the nursing staff of the Cove at Kroontje Health Care Facility for all the kindness and love shown to Barbara during her stay at the center and to the family during the two weeks that preceded her death.
