Bertie Kate Martin Hall, 91, of Christiansburg, passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2011.
She was born on July 13, 1920, to John R. and Nannie Kate Martin. She was the sweetest, dearest, most precious mother.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Brainard William Hall; and a brother, James Oliver Martin.
She is survived by her daughters, Shirley Ann Helvey & husband, Everett, Kay Francis Reynolds & husband, Jack, Carol Sue Acord & husband, Tim, Sandra Darlene Knowles & husband, Larry; grandchildren, Tina Williams, Garry Helvey, Nicole Reynolds, Shane Reynolds, Andrew Hodge, Justin Hodge, Katie Acord, and Micah Acord; 10 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by 1 brother, Roy Lee Martin; and 1 sister, Ruth Lois Arey; as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 23, 2011, from 5-8 pm at the Horne Funeral Home, Christiansburg. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2011, at 2:00 pm at the Faith Christian Church, Christiansburg, with Pastor Jones Oliver, Mr. Billy Swain, and Mr. Micah Acord officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg.
She loved unconditionally, was completely unselfish and she and her husband were faithful members for 60 years to Alleghany Church of Christ/Faith Christian Church of Christ.
We are waiting anxiously to see you again.
