Bettie 'MeMaw' Maxey

Bettie 'MeMaw' Maxey, 93, of Christiansburg, passed away on Christmas Eve, 2020.
Bettie was preceded in death by her parents, JC and Gladys Grimes; her husband, Paul Maxey; son, Jimmy Maxey; and son-in-law, Pete Swain. Those left to mourn her loss are her daughters, Anne Swain and Linda Maxwell (David); grandkids, Chuck Swain (Melissa), Jay Swain, Sean Whittemore (Amy Hunter), Tammy Reed (Jeff), Lacy Bush (Kevin); great-grandkids, Brad, Dirk, LeAnne, Hannah, and James Swain, Caleb (and husband Renan), Tanner, and Erika Reed, Seth Whittemore (Micah), Karly Bush (Max); great-great-grandson, Cyris Hurley; brother-in-law, Oris Maxey; as well as nieces, Donna McDonald and Dawn Gibson.
Bettie, most widely known as MeMaw, was the embodiment of unconditional love. She would do anything for her family and friends, and in return, she was loved by everyone that met her. She raised her 3 children, helped to raise her 5 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, and countless others. She had a beautiful soul and enriched so very many people's lives. She made a lasting, positive impact on so many people. We were blessed to be able to call her Mom, MeMaw, and friend.
A Memorial Service for Bettie will be scheduled at a later date.
