Betty Ruth Barnett Snider, 81, of Christiansburg, passed away on Thursday, January 31, 2013.
She was born on January 22, 1932. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Bill & Margie Barnett; husband, Wesley V. Snider, Jr.; brothers, Harry, Howard, and Buddy Barnett; and sisters, Maxine Lambert and Kathrine Nolen. She is survived by her children & their spouses, Ruth & Jr. Cupp, Wesley V. Snider, III, Debbie Akers, and Esther & Gary Richardson; grandchildren, Greg & Chrissy Cupp, Rusty Cupp, Kenny Compton, Jr., Jessica Compton, Wesley V. Snider, IV, and Aaron Akers; 7 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; sister, Margaret Smith; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Betty was a past Matron of the McDaniel Chapter 47 Order of the Eastern Star, Christiansburg.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 2, 2013, from 5-8 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home, with an Eastern Star service commencing at 7 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 3rd at 1 p.m. in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Jerry Dowdy officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg.
