Bharti Mahesh Desai

Bharti Mahesh Desai of Christiansburg passed away at her home October 28, 2016. A loving wife, mother and grandmother/nani, she will be remembered forever for always putting others needs above her own.
The daughter of the late Dinkerbhai and Sumitraben she was born on November 10, 1945 in Valsad, India. She was raised lovingly by her uncle and aunt Mohanlal and Hemlata in Salem, India. After marriage, she moved to Leicester, England, Cherry Hill, NJ and eventually settled in Christiansburg, in 1981.
Bharti is survived by her husband of 51 years Mahesh. She also leaves behind her son Amit (with Kerry) in McLean, VA; daughter Bhavika (with James) in Raleigh, NC; and grandchildren Kieran, Ellie, Abby, and Leela. Additionally she leaves behind brothers Harshad (with Gayatri), Deepak (with Shadna), sisters Jayshree (with Vaikunth), Bhakti (with Jitu), Purnima (with Jayesh), brother-in-laws Natvar and Umakant and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter Sangita and sisters Pushpa and Darshana.
Family and friends will be received at Horne Funeral Service at 1300 N Franklin St, Christiansburg, VA 24073 Tuesday, November 01, 2016 from 11 to 11:30 a.m. The Funeral Service will be held directly after at 11:30 a.m.
