Billy Howard

HOWARD, BILLY LAWRENCE, age 72, of Pilot passed away Thursday, November 08, 2007 after years of fighting lung cancer at his home.

Surviving are his longtime companion of thirteen years, Nancy Nunley; one daughter, Frances Bowers of Ridgeway, VA; two sons, Ricky Howard of Fielddale, VA Brent Howard of Floyd, VA; two step daughters, Angela Akers, Alecia Vaught both of Christiansburg; grandsons, Joseph Bowers, Adam Bowers and Jonathan Howard; granddaughter, Lilly Howard, Brittany Bowers; step grandchildren, Ashley Simpkins, Anastasia Macomber, Joshua Vaught, Zachary Vaught, Ashley Vaught, Brandon Vaught, Bridgett Vaught, Wendy Vaught, Killian Gwinn, Christopher Gwinn, Courtney Akers; special friends, Peggy Lanning and Tommy Alderman, also numerous other friends from Hardee’s in Christiansburg, Martinsville, VA and Richmond, VA, and colleagues .

Bill never met a stranger and he never lost a friend. “We love you very much and will miss you forever”. The family would like to offer special thanks to Dr. Ken Jones and Dr. Harry McCoy.

Memorial services will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10th, in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel, where family and friends may show their respect. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to American Cancer Society.
