Billy Ray Hudnall, 87, of Riner, passed away after a short illness on October 13, 2014. He was originally a resident of Hansford, West Virginia, born September 24, 1927, in Charleston, WV.
Billy is survived by his wife of 63 years, Shirley E. Hudnall; his son, William Ray ‘Rusty’ Hudnall and wife Christie of Christiansburg; daughter, Belinda Keller and husband Kevin of Maryland; grandchildren, Brandon Hudnall, Zachary Hudnall, Michael Hudnall, Jesse Hudnall, and Christopher Keller; nephew, Ron Petitt; niece, Caroline Plumley of Cory, Ohio; as well as other extended family and friends.
Billy was employed by Dupont Chemical Company of Belle, WV, for 40 years as a chemist. He attended Old Kanawha Baptist Church in Pratt, WV. He proudly served his country in the Korean War. Billy was an accomplished craftsman at many disciplines, as well as an accomplished flute player, earning the West Virginia All State Band twice. Above all else, he was an excellent provider and loving father who always had a smile on his face.
The family will receive friends on Friday, October 17, 2014, from 4-6 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. The Memorial Service will follow at 6 p.m. in the Chapel, with Dr. A. Timothy Hite officiating.
