Billy Howard Light, 64, of Christiansburg, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 17, 2012.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Capitola Light.
He is survived by his father, Archie Light and his step-mother, Joyce Light of Christiansburg; his companion, Lois Howard of Christiansburg; one sister, Joyce Harris & husband, Winfred; one brother, David Light & wife, Terry; one foster brother, James Farley & wife, Joyce, all of Christiansburg; one step-brother, Jackie Akers & wife, Ellen of Floyd; one niece, Teresa Patrick & husband, Mark of Christiansburg; two nephews, Randy Harris & wife, Roberta of Ironto, Kenny Light & wife, Michelle of Christiansburg; one great-niece, Ashley Patrick; one great-nephew, Stephen Patrick, both of Christiansburg; one uncle, Ray Light & wife, Frances, of Salem; two cousins, Michael Light & wife, Lisa of Salem and Nancy Huffman of Christiansburg.
Billy worked at Wolverine for many years.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 19, 2012, from 5-8 pm at Horne Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Friday, January 20, 2012, at 2 pm at the Horne Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Roy Turpin, Rev. Jube Burk and Rev. Everett Shepherd officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Lewis Gale – Montgomery Regional Hospital for their care of Billy.
