Brenda Doyle Raymond, 67 of Christiansburg, passed away on August 9, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Holland Doyle, Jr. and Nellie Fay Doyle; husband, Donald Roy Raymond; daughter, Christina Dawn Raymond-Rehg; sister, Glenda Marlene Gibson; sister-in-law and brothern-in-law, Bobby and Darlene Sanders of Louisville, Kentucky.
Brenda is survived by her daughter, Rachel Renee Merrix; grandchildren, Lyndsey Akers, Lacie Merrix, Adriana Rehg, Zarecka Rehg; sister, Linda Reed (Tim) of Princeton WV; brother-in-law, Rick Gibson of Bluefield, WV; niece and nephew, Delnora Acuff (Howie) of Cookeville, TN and Alan Reed (Cassie) of Princeton WV; son-in-law, Brian Rehg; niece, Marci Sanders of Louisville, Kentucky; as well as a host of other family and friends. The following people will be pallbearers at Brenda’s service: Howie Acuff, Alan Reed, Eddie Neel, Brian Rehg, Charles Goins, and Barry Helms.
Brenda graduated from Bluefield High School in 1972, and went on to graduate from Johnson University in Knoxville, TN in 1976 and was a 1978 graduate of the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, TN. She retired after 30 plus years of service as a music teacher, in Mercer County WV . Brenda was a charter member of Maple View Church of Christ, was a pianist at Belmont Christian Church and loved to take mission trips to Brazil. She was a 50 year member of the Order of Eastern Star in Bluefield, WV. Brenda enjoyed gardening, and spending time with family and friends at the lake.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 13, 2022, from 11-12 noon at Horne Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at noon in the Chapel, with Pastor Tony Reed officiating. Interment will follow in Belmont Cemetery.
