Cathy Walters Sowers

We are sad to announce the passing of Cathy Walters Sowers on Monday, May 1, 2023. She was born December 20, 1957. She is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, Wendell Sowers; her daughter and son-in-law, Trisha and Christopher Heidt; her granddaughters, Ava and Brooke Heidt; mother and stepfather, Bonnie and John Dunn; sister, Vicky Via. Cathy is also missed by her niece, Melissa Johnson and great-nieces and nephew, Ashleigh, Emma, and Eli Johnson; her mother-in-law, Corine Sowers; stepchildren, Chad (Hayley), Kayla (Matt), and Kristopher (Savannah); and several step-grandchildren. Cathy was preceded in death by her father, Dean Walters; and her younger brother, Dwayne Walters.
Cathy will be sorely missed by many. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. Well known for her over 30 years as an employee of Riner Food Center, Cathy treasured her free time that she had with her husband and grandchildren the most.
At Cathy's request, no funeral services will be held. A Celebration of Life will be at the Riner Fire Department on August 19, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in her honor.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Riner Fire Department would be appreciated. Also any pictures or memories of Cathy can be shared with her daughter at tat78@hotmail.com .
