Cecil Terry

August 1, 1917 — October 25, 2007

TERRY, CECIL D., age 89, of Christiansburg, husband, dad, grandfather, and great-grandfather, joined our Lord and Savior, Thursday, October 25, 2007.

His family, church family and friends will remember his dedication to the Lord, his love, generosity, wisdom and guidance.

Born August 1, 1918, he was the son of the late William Samuel and Carey Masters Terry and preceded in death by his wife, Hallie, with whom he shared 67 years of true love, and two infants. He was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Christiansburg.

He is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Franklin D. Terry of Hardy, Calvin E. Terry and wife, Sherry of Christiansburg. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Mitzie Marcinak and husband, Larry, Michigan, Melissa Gunnoe and husband, Dale, South Carolina, Frank Terry and wife, Angela, Moneta, Sean Terry and wife, Krista, Radford. Mr. Terry was also blessed with seven great-grandchildren, Nicole, Daniel, Hannah, Hallie, Karley, Alec and Zachary; two sisters, Ethelene Linkous and Christine Dale.

The family wishes to express their love and heartfelt appreciation the the Radford Rehab and Nursing Center custodians, residents, staff and volunteers for their love, friendship and care of dad and also the love and support from his church family.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Bible Baptist Church, 710 Church Street, Christiansburg, VA 24073. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 Friday evening at the Horne Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dusty Etter officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
