Charles R. “Chuck” Chamberlain III, 55 of Barren Springs, VA, formerly of Christiansburg, VA, passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2013, in Louisville, KY, as the result of an automobile accident. Chuck was born on August 3, 1957 in Christiansburg, VA.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles R. “Charlie” Chamberlain, Jr.; his grandparents, Charles R. “Ralph” and Jackie Chamberlain, and James and Lucy Sarver; and an aunt, Sue McCarty. He is survived by sons and daughter-in-law, Jeramiah Chamberlain of Christiansburg, and U. S. Army SPC Charles R. “Chase” Chamberlain, IV and wife Ashley of Ft. Riley, KS; three grandchildren, Mason, Annabelle, and Caroline; his mother, Betsy Rittenhouse; sisters, Chari Chamberlain and Teri Simmons; as well as uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins and many good friends.
Chuck was a 1975 graduate of Christiansburg High School. He served in the U.S. Army and was employed by Volvo Trucks, Dublin Plant for 29 years.
He was a knife maker, loved his Harleys, building his own bike and he loved photography. Chuck had a kind heart and always had a way to make people laugh. He was a friend to all.
A celebration of Chuck’s life will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2013, at 3:00 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service.
