Lynch, Charles Samuel Sr., 76, of Christiansburg, VA passed away peacefully from this life surrounded by family on September 21, 2010. He was born in McConnellsburg, PA on October 14, 1933 to Almira Miller Lynch and Tony Lynch.
Mr. Lynch was predeceased by his parents and sister Jane Lynch Snyder. In addition he was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Amtower Lynch and a grandchild, Samantha Kay Lynch.
Mr. Lynch served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Korean War. He continued his career as a supervisory computer specialist with the federal government until retirement after 33 years. His retirement was spent traveling and caring for his wife.
He is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Charles S., Jr. and Mary Lynch, Anthony S. and Angela Lynch; grandchildren, Bill and Chris Thornton, Jenna Rae Woolwine, Kelly Marie Lynch, Braedon Ray and Brandon Ray Woolwine; great granddaughter, Raven Abigail Lynch; special friends, Jack Peterson, Harvey and Cynthia Sowers.
The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to Dr. Sowinski and the staff at Heritage Hall Rehabilitation Center for their care and compassion.
The family will receive friends from 2p.m.-3p.m. on Thursday, September 23, 2010 at the Horne Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 3p.m, on Thursday, September, 23, 2010 in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel, Christiansburg, VA, with Pastor Pete Flinchum and Pastor Darrell Linkous officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg, VA.
