SCAGGS, CHARLES RUDOLPH (Charlie), age 54, of Riner, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2007, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Charlie was a loving and kind person who loved everyone. He enjoyed playing music, especially the guitar. He was preceded in death by his father, Cecil Scaggs; his sisters, Darlene Scaggs and Judith Bishop; and his brother, William Scaggs.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted mother, Hazel Scaggs of Riner; daughter and son-in-law, Shana S. & Houston Ray Sowers, Jr. of Christiansburg; son and daughter-in-law, Lucas Blake and Amanda Michelle Scaggs of Blacksburg; one granddaughter, Odessa Nicole Sowers of Christiansburg; special sisters, Willodene Bower of Christiansburg and Rena Earles of Riner; a very special cousin, Tony Scaggs and brother-in-law, Frank Bishop and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Saturday, January 27, 2007 at the Horne Funeral Home in Christiansburg. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 27, 2007 at the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with Ronnie Duncan and Brother Willie Farmer officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg.
