Clara Bell Huff Sheppard, 94, of Blacksburg, passed away on January 27, 2013, at Beth Sholom Home in Richmond, VA.
She was born on April 30, 1918, in Montgomery County, VA. She was preceded in death by her mother, Pearlie Linkous Huff; father, Charles D. Huff; husband, Everett A. Sheppard; daughter, Levon Sheppard; sister, Pauline Mullins; brothers, Carlyn D. Huff, Charles D. Huff, Jr., and Roy S. Huff.
She is survived by her son, Bobby L. & wife Carolyn Sheppard of Christiansburg; daughter, Phyllis & husband Thomas Morelli of Richmond, VA; sisters, Maudie Ramsey of Christiansburg, Laura H. Williams (Charlie) of Richmond, Treva M. Huff, and Charlene Keene, both of Blacksburg; brothers, Samuel J. Huff, Bill E. Huff, Boyd R. Huff (Connie), all of Blacksburg, and Albert D. Huff (Mary) of Christiansburg; five grandchildren, Leasa Sheppard Worrell (John), Nichole Sheppard, Sonya Gardner Gerisch, all of Christiansburg, Tamara Gardner Parker (Carey) of Richmond, and Joseph R. Gardner (Mariel) of Mint Hill, NC; five great-grandchildren, Chad Sheppard, Brandi Smith, Haley Worrell, Wesley Worrell, Caroline Parker; and many loving nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 30, 2013, from 5-7 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 31st at 2 p.m. at Merrimac Pentecostal Holiness Church, with Rev. Jerry Sloss officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Beth Sholom Home, Employee Holiday Fund 2013, 1600 John Rolfe Parkway, Henrico, VA 23238.
