Clarice (Thornton, Brammer) McGuyer, 82, of Christiansburg, went to join the love of her life on Wednesday, October 31, 2012. Clarice was a longtime seamstress in Montgomery County and did beautiful work.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest & Dora Thornton; her spouses, James Samuel Brammer, and George Lester McGuyer; grandson, David Justin Bishop; as well as siblings, Catherine Graham, Dorothy Owens and Grover Thornton.
Clarice is survived by her children, Samuel Jasper Brammer (Brenda), Michael Steven Brammer (Penny), and Sharon McGuyer Nowlin (Trigg); grandchildren, Kristi Brammer Hamilton (Mike), Amy Bishop Marshall (Stephen), Randall Scott Brammer (Chas), Gregory Scott Brammer (Jackie), James Russell “Rusty” Brammer (Joni), Jonathan Tucker Nowlin, Sherisa Brammer Nailor (Jason), Monica Katrice Nowlin, and Trigg Marcus Nowlin; 16 ½ great-grandchildren; siblings, Lydia Millirons, Eva Sutphin, Opal Hollandsworth (Lee), Virginia Francis (Bryan), James Thornton (Tressy); as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 3, 2012, from 5-8 pm at Horne Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 4th at 2 pm in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Neal Turner officiating. Interment will follow in Farris Cemetery, Riner.
