Clyde Melvin Creed

Clyde Melvin Creed, 83 of Pilot, VA, passed away on September 15,
2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Ada Creed;
sister, Lorraine Brammer, Geraldine Carden, Elizabeth Brammer, Mary
Louise ‘Tiny’ Huff; and brothers, George Lewis Creed, Gary Creed, John
Benjamin ‘Benny’ Creed, and Wilford Creed.

Clyde is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jeanette Creed; son, David
Creed (Susan Forkner); granddaughter, Candice Creed; special neighbor,
Alice Jones; special friend of the family, Mike Forkner; as well as a
number of nieces and nephews.

He retired from Montgomery County School Board as a locksmith and was
a devoted father, husband, and grandfather. He was a member of Pilot
United Methodist Church. Clyde enjoyed farm life, being outside,
watching the cows, and watching Virginia Tech football. He was a hard
worker all of his life.

The family would like to thank the staff of Catawba Hospital for their
excellent care of Clyde.

Visitation will be on Sunday, September 25, 2022, from 5-7 p.m. at
Horne Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Monday,
September 26, 2022, at 1 p.m. in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel, with
Pastor Leon Alley officiating. Interment will follow in Turner
Cemetery, Pilot.
