Coy H. Simpkins, 83 of Christiansburg, VA passed away Thursday, February 19,2015, at Lewis Gale Montgomery Hospital. He was born on March 31, 1931 in Montgomery Co. to the late Griffie and Nina Wilson Simpkins.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte L. Simpkins; son, Jimmy Simpkins; granddaughter, Shelby Simpkins; two brothers, Gurvis and Avery Simpkins; sister, Imogene Montgomery.
Family remaining to Cherish his memory include four sons, Howard Simpkins and wife, Bobbie of Dublin, Shannon Simpkins and wife, Charlene of Ellett Valley, Darrien Simpkins and Special Friend, Jennifer Buckley both of Christiansburg, Michael Shane Simpkins and wife, Teresa of Christiansburg; sister, India Azelene Simpkins of Snowville; two granddaughters; two grandsons; one step grandson; one step granddaughter; three step great grandsons.
Coy retired from the U.S. Air Force and Federal Mogul Corp. in Blacksburg. Special Thanks to the nurses at Lewis Gale Montgomery Hospital.
There was a private service. Arrangements were handled by Horne Funeral Home and Crematory.
