Daniel Raymond Revie III, 60, of Radford, Virginia, passed away on January 26th after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on January 17th, 1957, he was raised in Baltimore and was a graduate of Overlea High School, the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, and the University of Baltimore. Supported by Sheila, his loving wife of 34 years, he had a successful career that took him around the world as a well respected validation specialist in the pharmaceutical industry. Outside of work, he and Sheila loved to golf, scuba dive and travel.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Shirley Revie, father-in-law Arvil Duncan, brother-in-law Tim Duncan, and nephew Neal Revie. He is survived by his wife Sheila, brother Douglas Revie and his fiancée Jamie Hollandsworth, mother-in-law Barbara Duncan, sisters-in-law Tamara (Kenneth) Keen and Donna Rombro, brothers-in-law Dean Duncan, Billy (Linda) Duncan, Steve (Barbara) Duncan and Dave (Teresa) Strathy, nephews David (Ian) Strathy-Miller, Billy (Shellie) Duncan and CJ Chilton, nieces Mindy (Wade Owen) Strathy, Missy (Preston) Hedge, Krista (Sean) Wilson, Desiree Duncan and Danielle Keen, and many great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. He also leaves behind members of his chosen family, Chuck and Michelle Chilton and Ira and Joanne Schrank.
The family offers special thanks to Shirley, Teresa, Annette, Heather, Alta and the rest of the Carilion Hospice staff for all of their wonderful loving care and support.
The family will receive visitors on Friday, February 3rd, from 4 – 7 p.m., at Horne Funeral Home, 1300 North Franklin Street, Christiansburg, Virginia. A service, conducted by Pastor Frank Peters, will follow. A private graveside service for family will be held at White Rock Cemetery on Saturday morning.
