Rose, Jr., Daniel Jackson, 48, of Shelby, North Carolina, was called home on Tuesday, November 30, 2010. He was born May 4, 1962 in Welch, West Virginia. He served in the National Guard during Desert Storm in Saudi Arabia.
He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Jackson Rose, Sr. He is survived by his mother, Ruth Geraldine Rose, of Shawsville, VA; daughter, Deborah Danielle Bailey and husband, Michael, of Rocky Gap, VA; sons, Daniel Jackson Rose, III, of Rocky Gap, VA and Jason Smith, of Christiansburg, VA; wife, Tammy Rose, of SC; sisters, Katie Maxfield and husband, Glen, of Roanoke, VA, Debbie Warrenfeltz and husband, Dennis, of Blacksburg, VA, and Tammy Chappell and husband, Marvin, of Galax, VA; grandchildren, Aaliyah Marie Tilley, Aalyssa Rose Bailey, Caden Smith, Destiny Smith and Breanna Smith; nieces and nephews, James Maxfield, Jr., of Roanoke, VA, Gary Maxfield, of Shawsville, VA, Jessica Tuck and husband, Travis, of Shawsville, Tabatha Dudding and William, of Riner, VA, Samantha Kendrick and husband, Mike and family, of Shawsville, VA, Phillip Linkous, Jr., of Big Stone Gap, VA, Matthew Linkous, of Blacksburg, VA, Isaac Linkous, of Riner, VA and Luke Linkous and wife, Amanda, of Tazewell, Alex Ousley, Ben Ousley and Cole Ousley, Curtis Hill, all of Galax, VA; great nieces and nephews, William Allen Wayne Dudding, Dylan Dudding, Jordan Dudding, Cody Linkous, Sabastian Tuck, Bradley Linkous, Carter Linkous, Katie Lytton; and special companion, Amanda of the home; special friend, Phillip Linkous, Sr.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2p.m., Saturday, December 4, 2010 with Pastor Wes Conner and Pastor Johnny Smith officiating at the Shawsville Congregational Holiness Church. Interment will follow at the Shawsville Congregational Holiness Church Cemetery.
