Dr. Daniel Schneck was born on October 28, 1941 and died on November 26, 2017. Dan’s 76 years were filled with amazing achievements and service in an astounding range of fields. He became a licensed pilot at age 16, earned advanced degrees in both engineering and medicine, played violin in numerous symphony orchestras, was a leader in his field of Biomedical Engineering, authored more than twenty five books, and served his community through the Civil Air Patrol, Rotary International, and as a school board member.
Dan was a giving and caring man who had an incredible mind with a boundless curiosity about life and the world around him. His insatiable quest to understand all that he could was matched closely by his drive to make others laugh!
A teacher at heart, his passion for sharing his knowledge and guiding others was surpassed only by his tremendous love for, and devotion to, his family. Dan is survived by his cherished wife of over 50 years - Judi, daughter Cyndi Klein and her husband Tommy, granddaughters Danielle and Marlee Klein, daughter Patti Rowland and her husband Geoff, grandsons Aist and Julion Rowland, sister Dorita Berger and her husband Larry, niece Carylin Riak, niece Sabrina Kuratana and her husband Joe and their three children.
A private memorial service for the family is planned. Friends are invited to share personal memories, anecdotes, or thoughts about Dan at

. Dan was a city boy with allergies who’s idea of a picnic was eating in the dining room with a window open. Therefore, in lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Blacksburg New School Music Program (2500 N Main St, Blacksburg, VA 24060) in honor of Dan Schneck.
