Darrell Wayne Akers, 46, lost his battle with cancer and passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2013.
He was employed at DTH Contract Services, Inc. He was preceded in death by his infant sister, Lesa Kay Akers; and grandparents, Samuel and Elsie Akers, and Raymond and Bertha Kelley. He is survived by his parents, Sonny and Betty Akers of Elliston; his brother, Samuel Ray Akers and wife Christine, and their family, Kelley and Caitlin Akers, all of Queidersbach, Germany; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other extended family and friends.
The family would like to thank all his friends for their support and visits through his illness.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 21, 2013, from 5-7 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home.
