SNIDER, DAVID 'BIG DAVE" CHAPMAN, age 51, of Christiansburg passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at this home.
Dave worked for the town of Christiansburg for thirty-two(32) years. He was known by many throughout the community, Big Dave was a model, all star son, brother, uncle and friend, Dave loved his family, and showed it by all he did for them. He especially cherished his time with his three nephews, and the many others he became an "uncle" to through time he spent with their friends.Dave was a devoted sports fan to the Hokies, Demons, Redskins and Braves.
Preceded in death by his father, Roscoe Chapman Snider he is survived by his mother, Dorothy Salyers Snider; his sister and brother-in-law, Juanita and Joseph Sutphin; his nephews and their families, Christopher Lee Snider, David Allen Keith and Amanda Tawney, all of Christiansburg, Donald Oliver and Stacy Tawney, Dublin; several great nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6, at the Horne Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Mr. Bob Bishop with interment to follow in the Ross Cemetery, Craig County.
