Dean Hal Gordon

June 30, 1930 — February 2, 2017

Dean Hal Gordon, 86, of Christiansburg, passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2017.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Glenn and Cecile Gordon; son, Clark Gordon; and brothers, Jack, Richard, and Robert. Dean is survived by his wife, Betty A. Gordon; sons, Glenn (Pam) Gordon and Steven (Jeanne) Gordon; grandchildren, Sarah Martin, Kyle, Arthur, and
Louis Gordon, Courtney Gordon, Benjamin and Kelley Gordon, Kearsley Dillon, Josh and Erin Stanley; great-grandchildren, Rowan Martin and Sawyer Gordon; as well as nephews, Richard (Sandy) Gordon, John (Betsy) Gordon, and Henry (Linda) Gordon.

Dean was a Master SGT of the United States Marine Corp., from 1948-1952 in Cherry Point, North Carolina, where he worked as an aircraft mechanic. He then worked at Federal Mogul for 38 years and volunteered as a Ranger for 23 years in the National Park Service. Dean also enjoyed cross stitching and was a wonderful craftsman.

The family would like to thank the doctors who have cared for Dean over the years, and especially Tommy and Karen Whitt for all their loving care of not only Dean but his family.

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, February 11, 2017, at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Christiansburg, VA, at 1 p.m.

American Cancer Society.
