Dellas Arty Young, 83, of Christiansburg, passed away on Monday, August 13, 2012.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Janis Chrisman Young; his parents, Charlie Henry & Myrtle Quesenberry Young; sisters, Hattie Sullivan, Bernice Stiles; and brothers, Myles Young, Quintin Young and Erbie Young.
He is survived by his son & his wife, Glenn & Sharon Young; 2 grandsons, Reagan and Caleb Young; nieces and nephews, Ronnie Stiles, Tommy Stiles, Bobby Young, Jeff Young, Linda Young, Judy Young, Nita M. Moye, and Tony Young; sister-in-law, Dorothy Baker Young; and brothers-in-law, Lloyd Stiles and William Chrisman.
Dellas was a longtime member and deacon of Edgemont Christian Church and was a loving father and “Pop”. He worked for 33 years at Norfolk Southern as a carpenter. He loved farming, border collies, and anything John Deere.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 15, 2012, from 5-8 pm at Horne Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 16th at 11 am at Edgemont Christian Church, 2289 Edgemont Road, Christiansburg, with Rev. Peter Anderson and Rev. Bobby Sutphin officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg.
