Desaree Dawn DeHart Skinner fit no one’s mold. She lived life on her terms, without apology. Desaree battled Pulmonary Hypertension, and several other physical disorders for several years. On the evening of Monday, April 29th, 2019, she lost that battle here, and won a place with no disease or suffering.
Desaree leaves behind two amazing sons, Liam and Andres Skinner, whom she loved with all of her being.
She also leaves grieving parents, Charisse and Doug Skinner; mother and step-father, Michelle and Michael Whitaker; father, Troy DeHart; sister and brother-in-law, Heather and Joey Rivera; brothers Brad Swain, Heath Skinner, Levi Skinner, and Evan Skinner; grandparents, Mildred and Charles Hill; grandmother, Jean Skinner; grandmother and step-grandfather, Nancy and Larry Quesenberry; grandfather and step-grandmother, Ray and Koleta DeHart; and a wide and varied extended family, special friends and loved ones.
Desaree will be sorely missed.
Visitation will be at Horne Funeral Home, 1300 N. Franklin St., Christiansburg, 5:00-7:00pm Thursday, May 2nd. The funeral will be at Belmont Christian Church, 1500 Peppers Ferry Rd., Christiansburg, 11:00am Friday, May 3rd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pulmonary Hypertension Association for their research efforts. (We can help you with that.) You can also donate to the future needs of her sweet boys.
