Dorothy Kathleen Wickline Simmons

Dorothy Kathleen Wickline Simmons, 88 passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2023. She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, James H. “Cotton” Simmons; daughter and son-in-law, Marie and Donald Duncan; parents, L.J. and Martha Gracie Wickline; four brothers, Willy George, Conel and Raymond Wickline; sisters, Mary Ellison, Minnie Moses and infant Phyllis Wickline.
Dorothy is survived by her grandson, Chris Duncan and fiancé Hope Crockett of Pearisburg, VA; great- grandchildren, Tyler and Tayler of Pearisburg, VA; stepson and wife, Ronnie and Barbara Simmons of Christiansburg, VA; step-grandchildren, Jason and Kevin Simmons of Christiansburg, VA, Kristen Simmons Bruzzese and Vinnie Bruzzese, and great grandson Sebastion Bruzzese of West Hill, California; sister, Lois and Val Gutierrez of Chesterfield, VA; caretaker and niece, Ellen and Bill King.; along with many more nieces and nephews.
Dorothy went to work at Blue Ridge Overall factory at the age of 16 and worked there until it closed. Then she went to work at Donnkenny and worked there until it closed.

There will be a graveside service on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg, VA.
